Fodder Trees

Morning muesli for the minis! The occasional offering of fodder trees are extremely beneficial as a supplementary feed to most stock, but especially those that are “browsers”, and whose natural diet is mostly leaves, shrubs and tree bark.  Goats and donkeys are browsers, whereas horses are mostly “grazers” (grass eaters) who occasionally browse. The girls are chowing down on  pseudopanax arboreus/Five Finger/whauwhaupaku, which we find is a particular favourite with all our animals. We are fortunate it self-seeds at Bullswool Farm.
